The hurricane story is a short story, not a novel. Scenes that aren’t about the sisters probably need to go.
*wibbles lower lip, throws some cut scenes into a separate file*
Highest word count: 11,000 words. Current word count: 6348 words. Ouch!
But… But…
You can’t cut the scenes with the kittens!
Okay, you probably can, but… KITTENS!
Sorry.
That’s kind of a shame, cause it’s a great scene, but yeah, it doesn’t really relate to the sisters
*snicker*
I kept some kitty material, but not all. The kitty on the roof stays. The animal shelter is gone, though.
It’s not gone forever. It’s one of the scenes I put in a separate file so I could hug it and squeeze it and call it George even if it wasn’t in the story.
The hurricane story has been tormenting you for how long? Best to put it out of its misery now so that you can move on to the next thing. Maybe the cut scenes will enjoy a new, happier life in another story.
Julie,
It hasn’t been tormenting me that long if you consider that I keep shoving it into a corner and not looking at it. Heh.
On the other hand, if you count from when I had the idea? Dragoncon 2005.
So, you know. Pick one.
